It turns out that comet 67P, the comet that is currently being stalked by the ESA's Rosetta spacecraft, stinks. If you just so happened to be in whiff range of the comet, you would be treated to a fantastic "perfume" (the ESA's words, not mine) that smells like a combination of rotten eggs and horse urine, with a soupçon of stale alcohol and suffocating formaldehyde thrown in for good measure. In the words of the ESA, 'If you could smell the comet, you would probably wish that you hadn’t.'
